National Flag Day

How come our national flag day isn't in our calendars? I had to ask my dad what was the special occasion being celebrated today. It's our National Flag Day. So that's why there were pictures of the Philippine flag plastered all over the public walls. I thought it was for Independence day. I really can't recall any time during my school days when we celebrated the national flag day. Which again brings me back to my question - why isn't it marked in our calendars? The only time we were asked to make our national flag was when it was Independence day or United Nations Day. I remember in grade school when we were celebrating United Nations Day, I would pray that I pick my country. Well the flag is simple and our national custom accessible no brainer. I do remember studying the symbols of out flag and its significance.
Well today is as good a day to start celebrating such an event in Philippine history and maybe just maybe deepen our nationalism.
Happy National Flag Day.
Proud to be Filipino!
Just me,

Zoe
